SKC MARKETING COMMITTEE

The Marketing Committee is made of up of representatives responsible for the College’s website, social media presence, digital signage, and other traditional and digital message distribution media. It also includes a representative from the President’s Office and other personnel deemed necessary by the President.

This committee serves two roles. To define and guide SKC's visual identity by means of the SKC Brand Style Guide and Green Light Review process. And, to establish advertising programs in traditional and digital media and oversee the execution of these programs with the Mission, Vision, Core Themes, Ways of Being and Brand Style Guide in mind.

GREEN LIGHT REVIEW PROCESS

All external communications & marketing material will be electronically shared with the Marketing Committee by the department or program responsible for the purchasing of the material. Requests are made through the KiSS Flow form "Marketing Green Light Approval".

Materials that have been previously approved with a Green Light Approval request number, and are being reproduced with no changes may be produced without a Green Light Review.

The Marketing Committee will review material to ensure it accurately and consistently supports the Mission of Salish Kootenai College and the cultures of the Salish and Kootenai Confederated Tribes. The Committee will also review the style and graphical content to ensure it is of the highest professional quality. The material producers must allow time for Committee review and, if necessary, additional time for implementing any recommended changes.

The Marketing Committee is looking at a few key aspects of the communication that represents Salish Kootenai College.

  • Proper and informed use of SKC’s Seal and Charging Bison logo, colors, and fonts.
  • Accurate content.
  • Error free grammar and spelling.
  • Pieces are created with as professional design as is practically possible.

The Marketing Committee will review each piece of communication and provide the producer with either a “Green Light Approval” or suggestions in order to bring the piece up to the standards expected by Salish Kootenai College. We aim to make the process as quick and painless as possible.

All communication that represents the college to the public must be reviewed by the SKC Marketing Committee, including, but not limited to:

  • Publications, including those requiring partial editorial or design services, reprints or revisions of previously produced publications; publications produced by means of desktop publishing
  • Print and broadcast advertising
  • Photographs, video or audio productions
  • Event Apparel
  • College letterhead and business cards
  • Promotional items
  • Press releases including newspapers, magazines, news stations, etc.
  • Social media communications including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
  • Website material
  • Digital signage material

PRESIDENT'S OFFICE APPROVAL AND PERMISSION
